'Upper Lawn Pavilion' art print by Owen D. Pomery. Limited edition giclee print on 350gsm Hahnemühle Museum Etching paper.
About the building: Nestled in the Wiltshire, English countryside 'Upper Lawn Pavilion' served as the weekend home of architects Alison and Peter Smithson. The Smithsons designed and constructed the pavilion between 1959 and 1962, combining existing structures with modern materials. The street-side elevation marries the original stone wall with new prefabricated materials. The zinc-clad wooden frame replaced a cottage, transforming a chimney into the centre of the new pavilion. The design features an open living space, fully glazed front, and sliding doors that fully open to the garden.
